Today's Calgary Herald has a piece on our friend Pat McCloskey headed:
Canmore Photographer Wins Grand Prize at Vancouver Film Festival.
It's yet another award in his roster of recognition extending back over the past decade or so. The still shot is from a recent presentation on Yemen and shows a young girl walking along a trail carrying a plastic bucket on her head.
You can find records of all Pat and Heather's achievements on the McCloskey Productions website - including some clips from memorable video presentations. This is one from "Heartbeats of Denali" - showing Denali National Park and Preserve in Alaska.
The film is a High Definition production with 5.1 Surround Sound and it plays in a 270-seat theater on a 20-foot screen in the park's new Interpretive Center. The idea is to inspire viewers and give them an immersive experience of this spectacular park, using an original soundtrack, natural sound, a minimum of voice-over and employing no narration.
