URLS in training. (And maybe I stand corrected.)

Ideally suited to the task of Underwater Rescue by virtue of their tightly knotted woolly coats, Peruvian llamas exhibit peculiar bravery when faced with the perils of the stormy deep.

Here, dos llamas del rescate practice by leaping into a chilly alpine pool. "Son mis heroes!" says trainer Cesar Tope Frio.

SECRET REVEALED

In a recent development, there is news from the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee that llamas are now being trained to find expensive army uniforms lost in the warehouses of the Armed Forces.

'We spend millions on these garments," says Senator Larry Craig, "only to see them disappear into storage where they can never be located by human skills.

Taking a leaf from the Coast Guard's book, we are now training the keen-nosed llamas, who are unafraid of heights, to clamber into the topmost rafters as UNIFORM RESOURCE LOCATORS.

It's been very successful so far - although if they're hungry, they may eat the occasional pair of pants. Trust me. I know THAT embarrassment from personal experience."
