Absurd ... but is it art?

Born in Padova, Italy, in 1960, Maurizio Cattelan is probably best known for his satirical and controversial sculptures, particularly La Nona Ora (The Ninth Hour), depicting the Pope John Paul II struck down by a meteorite.

His fantastically absurd creations are said to reflect today's fantastically absurd culture and society.
