There's nothing wrong with this bench; it simply defies convention. It's a design by Swedish designer Martin Nicolauson (with Tom Eriksson) which uses the see-saw principle to facilitate conversation between strangers. Nicolauson points out, quite rightly, that ‘This bench requires cooperation to be functional.’

that's a really neat concept. we need it in my city - we have a reputation for being antisocial with strangers.
