The magnificent Azadi Tower is as much a message as an architectural accomplishment.
It centres the Azadi Cultural Complex in the centre of Tehran, Iran's capital and largest city, and reminds the world that - extremism aside - this beautiful country remains a jewel of high cultural and philosophical attainment.
The Azadi (Freedom) Cultural Complex is located in Tehran's Azadi square occupying an area of about five acres.
The fifty-metre tower forms the main part of the museum and its architecture is a combination of Islamic and Sassanid architecture styles.
The complex includes an audio-video centre showing Iran's widely ranging geography and displaying regional characteristics of the country which include cultural and life style differences, and religious and historical monuments.
A mechanical conveyor enables visitors to tour the facility in total comfort - and there is much to see: a variety of art galleries and exhibition halls, and constantly updated fairs and exhibitions.
The Diorama hall with its twelve chambers presents such diverse activities as agriculture, handicrafts, and industrial accomplishments - showing an Iran far different than the country portrayed by media bias.
The centre also includes a cinema, library and various supplementary services.

I'd go there in a heartbeat. I'd love to see the place first-hand.
