Children's illustrated book collector Heather Stormes alerted us to The Dangerous Alphabet from national best-selling author Neil Gaiman.

Not to be overlooked among Gaiman's many books for children, The Dangerous Alphabet is a perfect vehicle for the line and wash illustrations and creative typography of Gris Grimley.

A comparitively modest offering in comparison with the author's New York Times best-selling Coraline; a collection of short stories for young readers titled M Is for Magic; and InterWorld, co-authored with Michael Reaves, The Dangerous Alphabet is one of those inexpensive little treats every lover of imaginative artwork can buy in good conscience.

Neil Gaiman picture books include The Wolves in the Wall and The Day I Swapped My Dad for Two Goldfish, illustrated by Dave McKean.

Neil Gaiman wrote the script for the film MirrorMask and is also the author of nationally best-selling, critically acclaimed, and award-winning novels and short stories for adults. His achievements include the Sandman series of graphic novels and other graphic novels, including the graphic novel adaptation of Coraline.

Among his many awards are the World Fantasy Award, the Hugo Award, the Nebula Award, and the Bram Stoker Award.
Gaiman's work has appeared in translation in dozens of countries around the world.
