The show runs from the Twenty-first of March to the Seventh of June and the presentation has been lovingly assembled by the Royal Academy of Arts in collaboration with Arthur R. Miller and the British Museum.
Such is the fame of Japan's great print artist that it is unlikely that you will ever see such a comprehensive showing in one location ever again
Utagawa Kuniyoshi (1797-1861) is considered one of the greatest Japanese print artists of the nineteenth century.
Prolific and multi-talented, he became known for his portrayal of the historic heroes of Japan's warrior past. And it is largely through his masterful and innovative storytelling that Japan has kept alive the great myths and legends.
The exhibition has brought together over 150 of the artist's finest woodblock prints, including some of his rare surviving original drawings in a show that offers a valuable insight into Kuniyoshi's creative process and reveals him as a master of imaginative design.
THE MOST POPULAR SHOW SOUVENIRS.
Eye-catching Kuniyosho lapel badges are probably the most popular souvenirs from the RA Gift Shop. They come in a set of eight with four different designs at 7.95.
