The Sculpture Garden at Burghley House.

Levitated Apples is looking for information on this massive face sculpture in order to give due credit to both the artist and the photographer who contributed it to Pizdaus Photo Blog.

The Face is one of the comparatively recent inclusions in the Sculpture Garden of this English stately home - the largest and grandest house of the first Elizabethan age.

The structure was completed by William Cecil, Lord Burghley in 1587. Today, its eighteen state rooms are filled with a rich collection of paintings, furniture and fine art which are on public exhibition.

WORLD-RENOWNED COLLECTIONS.

Although Burghley House has altered very little from the 16th Century construction, its air of permanence is misleading - because Burghley has gone through great changes over the centuries under its different Cecil masters.

The differing requirements and tastes of the various descendants of the Lord High Treasurer have resulted in still-evolving changes to its interior, furnishing and decoration.

Over the four hundred and fifty years following the building of Burghley, these contributions have resulted in a world-renowned art collection. Visitors will discover one of the world's the finest assemblies of 17th century Italian masterpieces together with an exceptional collection of Oriental and European ceramics, fine furniture, and superb textiles.

Not least of the Burghley House attractions is the continually expanding Sculpture Garden which includes exceptional traditional and modern works.
