Believe it or not, these portraits are embroideries!

Philadelphia artist Daniel Kornrumpf creates portraits from embroidery - and while his amazing artworks may look like giant paintings in these close-ups, in reality they are relatively small creations, framed by a large background.

Kornrumpf graduated with a BFA from Kutztown University in Kutztown, Pennsylvania and an MFA from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia.

His work can be found in several collections and has been exhibited across the northeastern U.S. states including shows at the Cambridge Art Association and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts Museum.
