The Löwenmensch (literally, The Lion Man), was found in the Hohlenstein-Stadel cave in Germany, 1939. It was carved with a flint knife from mammoth ivory some time between 35.000-40.000 BCE. 

The Lion Man is the oldest-known zoomorphic figurine and oldest uncontested example of figurative art in the world [1688 x 3000].
