From 11th October to 18th January, Oklahoma's National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum is featuring Craft in America: Expanding Traditions, the acclaimed exhibition of some of the most significant examples of American creativity in clay, wood, metal, glass and fibre.
The Museum is one of only seven stops in a multi-city tour for this presentation of some of the most important and exciting examples of American crafts, a project which includes a three-part television series and a summarizing book.
The exhibition shows how handcrafted objects have been created by every civilization since the beginning of time - and demonstrates how these artifacts were not only essential to daily existence, but were a reflection of each culture’s character and self-awareness.
