Murano glass blowing techniques: creating a Ferrari horse.

Venetian glass is a type of glass object made primarily on the island of Murano - world-renowned for being colourful, elaborate, and skilfully made.

Glass blowing on the island is a centuries-old tradition, employing tricks and techniques that have been handed down through the generations.

Glassworks in Venice and Murano offer a variety of master-built glass objects suited to all tastes and wallets. They include Venini lamps and vases, exquisite glass animals and unusual jewellery.

One popular souvenir is la murrina: a slim round pendant in colored glass with spiral or flower patterns hung from a gold or silver chain.

I love a whack of respect for glassblowers. Fantastic people - not ones to blow hot air.
