
"Woman Free," stands in the courtyard of the headquarters of the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna.
Dedicated to the advancement of women, the fifteen-foot tall sculpture stands high above a reflecting pool and a beautiful rose garden.
GRANDPA WOULD BE PROUD.
Its creator is Edwina Sandys, the British sculptor who is the grand-daughter of Winston Churchill. She is the eldest child of Diana Churchill and Lord Duncan Sandys, a former British cabinet minister.
Among her internationally recognized works is one entitled "Child", created in commemoration of the International Year of the Child in 1979, and now on permanent display in front of the UN International School in Manhattan. Others include "Generations" and "Family".
CANADA'S OWN.

Canada has its own Edwina Sandys sculpture in Windsor, Ontario. "Eve's Apple" (1998) is a painted steel hand in three sections showing an apple with bite taken out of it.
Married to an American architect, Ms. Sandys now lives in the United States.
